Applying for low cost home ownership (LCHO)Low Cost Home Ownership (LCHO) schemes are operated by housing associations and councils. Council housing departments or housing advice centres should be able to tell you about any schemes in their area. An organisation called the Housing Corporation can tell you which housing associations offer Shared Ownership or Homebuy. Contact the relevant regional office for a list (see below). Details of shared ownership homes for sale can also be obtained through Shared Ownership HOMES (click on www.homes.org.uk/SOinfo for more information). This service takes information from housing associations or owners of shared ownership homes who wish to sell, and can put you in contact with them. It costs £30 to register for this service.
